Derbigum Energy Savings
Since 2000, the Derbigum site in Perwez has made saving energy a top priority. The first two years were marked with some very important modifications. One of these was the addition of a new, natural gas, centralized boiler room that modifies the use of high- powered motors and also monitors’ energy consumption during weekends.

Reduction of CO2 waste going well beyond our commitment to Kyoto

At the end of 2003, the Derbigum administration gained momentum with a commitment to the Kyoto objective by means of the "accords de branche". The contribution involved specifically reducing energy consumption by 16% between 2002 and 2012. |

For this purpose, auditing and an annual certification were put into place along with a specific Team. These systems work to analyse current levels of consumption as well as continue to propose new ideas for energy-saving innovation. |

In 2006, investments on preparation procedures paid off allowing for a 12% reduction in electrical consumption when compared to 2005. Other methods of saving energy are currently on course to help us optimize our process of heating mixtures; these methods should continue to generate even better results in the years to come. |
